Hippotherapy/Therapeutic Riding

.

Meadow Creek Farm is proud to offer Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding under the supervision of Mara Gordon, licensed physical therapist.

Hippotherapy is a branch of physical therapy utilizing the horse as a therapeutic tool.  Hippotherapy is especially effective for individuals with compromised balance, signifigant difficulties with walking, hemiplegia, muscle tone abnormalities, and/or generalized weakness.  Sessions are performed by a licenesed physical therapist in conjunction with a riding instructor, and require a prescription from a doctor.

Therapeutic riding sessions are also available from our team of riding instructors, under direction of a licensed physical therapist when appropriate.  These sessions are helpful for people with mild physical disabilities and/or mental and emotional issues.
